Roger Perrin Reserve Cotes du Rhone - Good and Cheap!
Roger Perrin is one of my favorite producers of Chateauneuf and Cotes du Rhone. His well known Chateauneuf du Pape is priced right and although a little young, it is really a no brainer for me. The Cotes du Rhone appellation signifies old world production of a fine wine at a really resonable price. I have fallen again for this particular region...
Tasting notes: A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, aged and fermented in the tank. You will taste the berry and cherry fruit flavors with hints of pepper, and spice. Acidity is perfect. Drink over the next 2-3 years. (88 Pts Valley Wine & Spirits)
Food pairing: great with middle eastern dishes and/or a french bouillabaisse

its always refreshing to hit on a wine that does not break the bank but delivers on everything else a decent wine should be.
